Norway European champion for the eighth time!

20.12.2020
Norway European champion for the eighth time!

In Norway's 11th European Championship final, they met the great team France, who were reigning European champions after they won in 2018. In the World Cup final in Germany in 2017, it was France who ran away with the victory after a steady battle, which was also the last final.

A revenge-seeking Norway went out to Jyske Bank Boxen in Herning and in the first instance Norway got off to a good start.  After 21 minutes, the Norwegian girls led by four goals.  The teams went to the break with the position 10-14 to Norway.

After the break, France stepped in and slowly but surely sealed the room up to Norway.  With ten minutes left on the clock, it was 18-18 between the finalists.  The next ten minutes brought excitement in both directions.  Towards the end, France had some technical errors and Norway took advantage of the chances they were given.  France missed up their last chances and Norway finishes the European Championship final with the score 20-22 and finally takes the gold home to Norway again.
